Deerfield-Windsor took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Brookwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights skirted past the Warriors 7-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Mary Ruth Courtney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Jennings Curington was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Emily Phillips was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Deerfield-Windsor's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Brookwood, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Coming up, Deerfield-Windsor will host Southwest Georgia STEM Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brookwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Baconton Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
