Recap: Crawford Colts vs. Hoover Cardinals
The Crawford Colts's game on Tuesday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Hoover 58-52. Crawford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hoover apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Crawford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Khadija Muriidi, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Muriidi has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Fatuma Abdi, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Myesha Frank continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hoover, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Jewel Parker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Crawford bumped their record down to 9-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hoover, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Crawford will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancho Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Rancho Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crawford in California (Rancho Christian is ranked 54th, while Crawford is ranked 827th). As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to face off against Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
