Soccer Game Preview: Torres vs. Maywood CES

The Torres Toros will take on the Maywood CES Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Torres will be strutting in after a victory while Maywood CES will be coming in after a loss.

Torres took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Elizabeth a 6-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Toros needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, Maywood CES's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 3-1 to Marquez.

Torres has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those six games. As for Maywood CES, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6-4.

Torres came out on top in a nail-biter against Maywood CES when the teams last played last Monday, sneaking past 1-0. Will Torres repeat their success, or does Maywood CES have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
