Soccer Game Preview: Aztec vs. Bloomfield

The Aztec Tigers will challenge the Bloomfield Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Aztec is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Miyamura on Thursday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Aztec couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Bloomfield made sure to put some goals up on the board against Kirtland Central on Tuesday. They blew past the Broncos 6-2. The result was nothing new for Bloomfield, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Kirtland Central from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Maliah Goins led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Aztec's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1.

Aztec skirted past Bloomfield 2-1 in their previous meeting back in September. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
