Newnan came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Banneker Trojans an 18-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Newnan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Banneker, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
