Football Game Preview: Grapevine Faith Christian Lions vs. Southwest Christian School Eagles

The Grapevine Faith Christian Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Southwest Christian School Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grapevine Faith Christian has given up an average of 26 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grapevine Faith Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering All S just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 49-15 loss at the hands of the Saints. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Saints are ranked 77th).

Meanwhile, Southwest Christian School played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Midland Christian and fell 56-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Although Southwest Christian School took the loss, they still got scores from Andrew Hammer and Trey Mosley.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southwest Christian School fell to 5-1. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Grapevine Faith Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 153 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Southwest Christian School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 308.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Grapevine Faith Christian couldn't quite get it done against Southwest Christian School when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-14.
