Baseball Game Preview: Johnson Knights vs. White County Warriors

For the second straight game, Johnson will face off against White County. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Warriors at 5:55 p.m. Johnson hasn't scored more than two runs for 23 games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Johnson fell victim to White County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 15-0.

For White County's part, Trevor Butler looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Butler is becoming a predictor of the Warriors' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 9-14 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Cooper Garrett was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. White County is 9-2 when Garrett posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. Grant Gooch was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

White County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 2-26. As for White County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.
