Soccer Game Preview: GALA vs. Fremont

The GALA Goddesses will square off against the Fremont Pathfinders at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. GALA will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Fremont better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when GALA really get things going. GALA's defense stepped up to hand Harbor Teacher a 3-0 shutout on Friday. The Goddesses might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by three goals or more this season.

Tessie Georgitis and Grace Harris scored all three of GALA's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Fremont made sure to put some goals up on the board against Locke on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Saints. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pathfinders yet this season.

GALA's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six matchups. As for Fremont, they now have a winning record of 5-4-3.

Everything went GALA's way against Fremont in their previous matchup back in January, as GALA made off with a 5-0 win. Does GALA have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fremont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
