Basketball Game Preview: Richland Rams vs. Cambria Heights Highlanders

Richland is 1-8 against Cambria Heights since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Richland Rams will head out to take on the Cambria Heights Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Richland's last matchup with Central Cambria could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. Richland came up short against Central Cambria, falling 69-44. The Rams were down 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Richland had strong showings from Lanie Marshall, who posted ten points along with six blocks and five rebounds, and Trinity Macey, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. That's the most blocks Marshall has posted since back in December of 2024. Leyna Roman was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Cambria Heights and River Valley squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Cambria Heights had to settle for second. They lost 55-32 to the Panthers. The Highlanders have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Richland now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Cambria Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.

Richland came up short against Cambria Heights in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 42-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cambria Heights' Sienna Kirsch, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
