Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Whitney Pioneers vs. Golden West Trailblazers

Mt. Whitney is 0-10 against Golden West since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. Both will face off at 4:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mt. Whitney is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since February 14th on Tuesday. They came up short against Fresno, falling 48-24. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pioneers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Warriors are ranked 753rd).

Meanwhile, Golden West might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Coalinga an easy 65-44 win. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Golden West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mt. Whitney, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.

Mt. Whitney came up short against Golden West in their previous meeting back in January, falling 33-26. Can Mt. Whitney avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
