Libby had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-4 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Bonners Ferry Badgers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Loggers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Not much got past Maddi Willis, who gave up just a hit to keep Bonners Ferry off the board.
At the plate, Libby got a big performance out of Peyton Waggoner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Waggoner's first of the season. Dakota Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Libby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive games.
As for Bonners Ferry, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5. The contest marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.
On Bonners Ferry's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydin Falck, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Libby will welcome Butte Central Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bonners Ferry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Priest River at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Badgers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
