Softball Game Preview: Manvel Mavericks vs. Dobie Longhorns

The Manvel Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Dobie Longhorns at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Manvel is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Tuesday, Manvel earned a 9-4 victory over Dawson.

Meanwhile, Dobie didn't have quite enough to beat Alvin on Tuesday and fell 7-6.

Persephone Soria made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Gabby Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Dobie's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Manvel, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.

Manvel beat Dobie 9-5 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
