There was early excitement for USO [University Prep/Sci-Tech/Obama Academy] after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Hickory who ended up claiming the real prize. USO [University Prep/Sci-Tech/Obama Academy] took a 41-24 bruising from Hickory. Leading Hickory to victory were Christian Dungee and Kelvin Morrison. Dungee rushed for 23 yards and two touchdowns, while Morrison rushed for 135 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Jadon Phillips also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.

USO [University Prep/Sci-Tech/Obama Academy]'s loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hickory, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
