Recap: Upper Moreland Bears vs. Harry S. Truman Tigers
The Upper Moreland Bears gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They breezed by Harry S. Truman at home to the tune of 57-13. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Upper Moreland also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2021.
Upper Moreland can attribute much of their success to Holly Gohl, who scored 22 points. Olivia Meakim was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
When it comes to explaining why Harry S. Truman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Erynn Bond. Despite the final result, she scored 9 points. Bond scored a full 69.2% of Harry S. Truman's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Upper Moreland's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Harry S. Truman, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upper Moreland will take on Lower Moreland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harry S. Truman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against St. Hubert Catholic for Girls at 7:00 p.m.
