Softball Recap: Elbert County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Elbert County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in August.

Elbert County's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Prince Avenue Christian, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Elbert County and Prince Avenue Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Blue Devils will take on Oglethorpe County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (47 vs. 137). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elbert County 3.7, the Patriots 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Prince Avenue Christian (ranked 14th) will meet East Jackson (ranked 342nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
