Soccer Game Preview: Fairfield vs. Fort Madison

The Fairfield Trojans will challenge the Fort Madison Bloodhounds at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Fairfield's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Washington 3-0. Fairfield might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Fort Madison's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They and Mt. Pleasant finished up their matchup with a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Fort Madison have been dealt a draw since back in March.

Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those eight contests. Fort Madison's draw makes their record 7-2-3 this season.

Fairfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Madison in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Bloodhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
