Basketball Game Preview: Needles Mustangs vs. Lincoln County Lynx

Needles is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Lincoln County is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Both will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Needles against White Pine as the team secured a 60-30 victory. The Mustangs pushed the score to 50-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Lincoln County over Laughlin in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lincoln County blew Laughlin out of the water with a 55-27 final score. That's two games straight that the Lynx have won by exactly 28 points.

Lincoln County's win came from a few key players Needles will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Bleak, who posted 13 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Rylee Heiselbetz was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Needles is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.1 points per game. As for Lincoln County, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
