Basketball Recap: Inderkum's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Inderkum had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They skirted past the Ponderosa Bruins 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since December 20, 2024.

Inderkum was led to victory by Aniyah Bruhn and Jamiah Fontenberry. Bruhn posted 15 points, while Fontenberry scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Tianna Honrada, who earned eight points.

Despite the loss, Ponderosa still got an impressive performance from Brooklynn Nordquist, who went 8-for-16 on her way to 21 points and three blocks. Rowan Thomas was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Inderkum pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points over those games. As for Ponderosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-4.

Looking ahead, Inderkum will square off against Monterey Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monterey Trail will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Inderkum surely won't give up without a fight. Ponderosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
