Baseball Recap: Morse Comes Up Short

Morse extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 6-22. They lost 11-0 to the Scripps Ranch Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-8 defeat on Wednesday.

Morse saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calvin Booker Jr, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

As for Scripps Ranch, they pushed their record up to 15-12-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Scripps Ranch's side, Christian Herrera tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cooper Sitton, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Scripps Ranch: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-12-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jesse Dawson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

As of now, neither Morse nor Scripps Ranch have any future games scheduled.
