Softball Recap: Stratford Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Stratford Academy couldn't beat Tattnall Square Academy on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Eagles fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 7-6. The Eagles have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Cordtney Galoia and Hayden Craddock did some serious damage despite the final result: Galoia got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Craddock went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Craddock has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Hatsy Russell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Stratford Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-8. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Stratford Academy will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Athens Christian at 11:00 a.m. As for Tattnall Square Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge John Milledge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
