Soccer Recap: Griffin Takes a Loss

Griffin entered their matchup against Starr's Mill on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Griffin Bears fell just short of the Starr's Mill Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Griffin's goal came courtesy of Brody Meeks, which was the first he's scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Griffin and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Starr's Mill, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-5.

Griffin wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Jonesboro on the 18th. As for Starr's Mill, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 win against Mundy's Mill on the 14th.
