Preview: Sonora Wildcats vs. Sierra Timberwolves
The Sonora Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Sierra Timberwolves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Sonora will be strutting in after a victory while Sierra will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Sonora narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Oakdale 29-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sonora.
Adeline Hanson was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Hanson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Sierra's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by El Capitan 61-31. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sierra in their matchups with El Capitan: they've now lost three in a row.
Sonora's win bumped their season record to 2-1 while Oakdale's defeat dropped theirs to 0-3.
Sonora strolled past Sierra when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 52-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sonora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
