Volleyball Recap: Appleton East Gets the Win

After losing to Shawano Community the last time they met, Appleton East decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Patriots walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hawks on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Adina DePagter paced Appleton East's offense, picking up seven kills. DePagter got some help from Opal Sparkman and her nine assists. Sparkman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Appleton East's win bumped their record up to 12-24. As for Shawano Community, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-22 record this season.

Appleton East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Kaukauna on the 23rd. As for Shawano Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Merrill on the 21st.
