Florida high school softball RBI leaders: Eighth-grader leads state leaderboard with 46

North Bay Haven Academy's Kaylee Goodpaster is a name sports fans should remember.

An eighth-grade softball player leads the state of Florida in RBI. And she's an experienced varsity high school player at that. Outfielder Kaylee Goodpaster, who played at North Bay Haven Academy (Panama City) as a sixth-grader, has driven in a state-best 46 runs.

She's already played 60 varsity games, including 23 in 2022.

The 5-foot-11 standout is hitting .581 (36 of 62) with eight doubles, four triples and 11 home runs. This after hitting .449 with 44 RBI and 20 extra-base hits as an seventh-grader.

Goodpaster is also a very good basketball player. She averaged 14.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.3 steals per game for the Buccaneers (12-11) in 2021-22.

North Bay Haven Academy is the top seed heading into Thursday's FHSAA 3A District 1 title game. Goodpaster went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a homer in Tuesday's 15-0 semifinal win over Bay.
