Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Sandra Bonilla and Bernadett Olivares Lead Gertz-Ressler to Victory

Gertz-Ressler won the last time they faced New Designs University Park and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gertz-Ressler Pumas snuck past the New Designs University Park Cardinals with a 24-19 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pumas.

Leading Gertz-Ressler to victory were Bernadett Olivares and Sandra Bonilla. Olivares posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Bonilla earned two points and eight rebounds. Olivares is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.

The win got Gertz-Ressler back to even at 6-6. As for New Designs University Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Gertz-Ressler will venture away from home to face off against Neuwirth Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gertz-Ressler is facing Neuwirth Leadership Academy at the right time seeing as Neuwirth Leadership Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for New Designs University Park, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Animo Robinson at 3:30 p.m. New Designs University Park's defense has only allowed 23 points per game this season, so Animo Robinson's offense will have their work cut out for them.
