Basketball Recap: Asheville Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Asheville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ardrey Kell Knights.

Braden Suggs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ardrey Kell, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 21 points. Suggs' afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Donovin Jones, who went 5-for-7 en route to 12 points.

Asheville Christian Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ardrey Kell, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Asheville Christian Academy will face off against Calvary Day School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 72.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ardrey Kell, they will take on Kings Mountain at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
