Softball Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

Fairview extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 7-15. They lost 14-1 to the Erie Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in August.

Fairview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace McCall, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Erie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Considering they have won 11 matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Erie's side, they let Avery Barnes and Braelen Heer run wild. Barnes got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Heer went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Tafoya, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will face off against Northglenn on Friday. As for Erie, they will challenge Frederick at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
