Basketball Recap: Merion Mercy Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jenkintown last Tuesday, Merion Mercy Academy came back down to earth. The game between the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears and the Sacred Heart Academy Lions didn't end well, with the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears falling 47-29. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Lions are ranked 178th).

Merion Mercy Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Sacred Heart Academy, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 13-6.

Merion Mercy Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Math Civics & Sciences at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
