Chesterton is a perfect 10-0 against Merrillville since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chesterton has 15 straight wins, Merrillville has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Chesterton got the win against Michigan City by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Chesterton took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Merrillville lost 3-0 to Hanover Central on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered against the Wildcats since October 7, 2020.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-14, 25-17.

Merrillville's loss dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Chesterton, their victory bumped their record up to 27-3.

Everything went Chesterton's way against Merrillville when the teams last played back in September, as Chesterton made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
