Basketball Game Preview: Houston Mustangs vs. Germantown Red Devils

The Houston Mustangs will face off against the Germantown Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Houston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Germantown likes a good challenge.

Houston is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Munford, posting an 80-42 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Cougars are ranked 211th) , the win on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Germantown was beaten by Bartlett 71-40 on Tuesday.

Houston has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Everything came up roses for Houston against Germantown in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, as the team secured a 71-39 victory. In that contest, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 41-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
