Lakeside had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Pike Valley Panthers 30-28. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 50-42 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Lakeside to victory were Eli Schmitt and Landon Baetz. Schmitt rushed for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Baetz rushed for 77 yards and two scores. Baetz also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, making four total tackles, and defending two passes.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pike Valley, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
