Softball Recap: Thomasville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Thomasville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Elbert County Blue Devils by a score of 11-6. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three contests in a row.

Khiler Oehlhof spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jaelyn Oehlhof was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Caroline Still, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Thomasville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .424 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Thomasville's victory bumped their record up to 22-12. As for Elbert County, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blue Devils beat Thomasville by a score of 10-9 later that day.
