Baseball Recap: Canyon Victorious

It's playoff time, and Canyon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Upland Highlanders by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comanches.

Nathan Fuzzard tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camden Goetz, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. John Somerndike was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Canyon's record now sits at 16-14. As for Upland, they dropped their record down to 15-13-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Canyon nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
