Texas high school football: Week 3 schedule, scores

This week's Texas high school football schedule is headlined by No. 5 Atascocita (Humble) taking on East St. Louis (Ill.), one of the top programs in Illinois. See the weekend's complete schedule and top 25 scoreboard below.

Coming off a 42-34 win over Katy, Atascocita looks to improve to 3-0 against a team that beat national power St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) last week. 

Sophomore running back Cardae Mack ran for 167 yards and three touchdowns a week ago in Atascocita's win over Katy.

There is also a rematch between defending state champions Saturday between 2022 Class 6A Division II champ DeSoto and Class 5A Division II titlist South Oak Cliff (Dallas). DeSoto won last year's meeting 42-23.

North Crowley (Fort Worth) takes its unbeaten record on the road to slug it out with No. 19 Lovejoy (Lucas). A shootout could be in the works here as North Crowley is averaging nearly 70 points per game while Lovejoy has posted totals of 50 and 42 in its first two outings.

In other contests featuring highly-ranked foes, Tompkins (Katy) travels to No. 17 Katy, unbeaten Bridgeland (Cypress) hits the road to rumble with No. 24 Shadow Creek (Pearland) and No. 25 Summer Creek (Houston) attempts to improve to 3-0 on the year at unbeaten Klein Collins (Spring).
