Softball Recap: Mercy Monarchs vs. Lincoln Southeast Knights

Mercy lost to Lincoln Southeast back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Monarchs blew past the Knights 7-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Monarchs.

Mercy got a great performance from Alexis Nuefind as she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Nuefind has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rae Carmichael was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August of 2024. Vanessa Burton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.
