Soccer Game Preview: Mater Dei vs. La Canada

The Mater Dei Monarchs will venture away from home to take on the La Canada Spartans on Wednesday. Mater Dei's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mater Dei fell victim to Orange Lutheran and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 4-0 to the Lancers.

Meanwhile, La Canada came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.2 goals) and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 3-0 shutout. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

La Canada's victory bumped their record up to 15-1-2. As for Mater Dei, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-4.
