Soccer Recap: Franklin Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Franklin won the last time they faced Weston Ranch and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Franklin Yellowjackets came out on top against the Weston Ranch Cougars by a score of 3-1. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Cougars are ranked 716th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Janelli Villagran and Jennifer Montero scored all three of Franklin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 45 goals.

Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those nine matchups. As for Weston Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9-1.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-1 draw against Bear Creek on the 30th. Weston Ranch has also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Edison on the 30th.
