Soccer Recap: Amador Valley Takes a Loss

Amador Valley was the 3-0 winner over Carondelet when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Amador Valley Dons fell just short of the Carondelet Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Dons have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Maylen Montoya, who's now up to three this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Amador Valley and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Carondelet, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Amador Valley and Carondelet should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Amador Valley (ranked 102nd) will meet Dublin (ranked 223rd) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carondelet will face off against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 151 places (24 vs. 175).
