Baseball Recap: Centralia Takes a Loss

Centralia was the 5-2 winner over North Clay/Clay City when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Orphans fell 4-1 to North Clay/Clay City on Friday. The Orphans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Centralia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhett Lambert, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Centralia now has a losing record of 8-9. As for North Clay/Clay City, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centralia will square off against Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Clay/Clay City, they will head out to square off against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Clay/Clay City 2.3, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
