Softball Recap: Mary Persons Has No Trouble Against Whitewater

Mary Persons barely beat Whitewater the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 10-1 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mary Persons has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Whitewater, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Mary Persons will face off against Jones County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.1, the Greyhounds 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Whitewater, they will square off against Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
