Basketball Game Preview: Burroughs Burros vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders

The Burroughs Burros and the Roosevelt Rough Riders will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Burroughs is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lancaster just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to the Eagles 51-45. While losing is never fun, the Burros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Eagles are ranked 171st).

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jhavmine Ave and Hayden Tolbert. Tolbert had a great game and almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, Ave did her best for the losing side, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by South East 63-6.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Burroughs, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.
