Basketball Recap: Antelope Valley Drops Season-High Score on Littlerock

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Antelope Valley). They claimed a resounding 83-7 win over the Littlerock Lobos. Given the Antelopes' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Lobos are ranked 1086th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Antelope Valley to victory were Niya Price and Ariana Soil. Price posted 24 points, while Soil earned 19 points. Soil has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 29 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Avery, who had 11 points.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Antelope Valley, bringing their record for this year to 18-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Littlerock, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Antelope Valley has already played their next contest (against Eastside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Littlerock will be playing at home against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
