Soccer Game Preview: Sequoia vs. Burlingame

The Sequoia Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the Burlingame Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sequoia's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Sequoia took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Menlo-Atherton onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Ravens' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Bears are ranked 197th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Burlingame challenged Woodside on Thursday. Burlingame and Woodside finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw.

Sequoia's victory bumped their record up to 5-8-2. With that draw, Burlingame's record moves to 4-7-5.

Sequoia came up short against Burlingame in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Sequoia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
