Softball Recap: Stroud Sets Scoring Season-High Against Tonkawa

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stroud). They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Tonkawa Buccaneers on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Stroud's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-17. As for Tonkawa, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stroud will head out to square off against Wellston at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Wellston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Stroud's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tonkawa, they will take on Blackwell at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
