Softball Recap: Golden Starts Season with Victory Against Niwot

Golden had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Niwot Cougars 11-3 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Demons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Adrianna Riddle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daely Peterson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Golden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-1 victory against Bear Creek on the 19th. As for Niwot, they have also already played their next game, a 13-3 win against The Academy on the 20th.
