Baseball Recap: Westview Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Westview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Fairfield Falcons on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Elijah Zolman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Blake Hostetler was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lucas Swanson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Westview's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Fairfield, they moved to 10-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Westview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against Eastside on the 21st. As for Fairfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-1 victory against West Noble on the 21st.
