Football Recap: Bluestem Takes a Loss

Bluestem played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 35-8 loss at the hands of the Neodesha Blue Streaks. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Blue Streaks: they've now lost six in a row.

Ayson Shepherd threw for 46 yards and one touchdown. Cooper Witty was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Logan Squier rushed for 48 yards.

Cole Ramey had an outrageously good game for Neodesha as he rushed for 100 yards and three scores on only five carries. Ramey also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making two total tackles. Another player making a difference was Camryn White, who rushed for 60 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Bluestem's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Neodesha, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Bluestem has already played their next game, a 42-20 victory against Fredonia/Elk Valley on the 19th. As for Neodesha, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 22-6 loss against Caney Valley on the 19th.
