Softball Recap: Lanier Comes Up Short on the Road Against Collins Hill

Lanier had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Collins Hill Eagles by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Sara Wilson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Baessler, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Coming up, Lanier will take on Norcross at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Collins Hill, they will face off against Parkview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
