McCluer North extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday, bumping them up to 8-0. They put the hurt on the Hazelwood East Spartans with a sharp 17-2 victory. Fans of the Stars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Amya Adams looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Mia Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Marayah Taylor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

McCluer North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

As for Hazelwood East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

On Hazelwood East's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamarre Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, McCluer North will head out to face off against Clayton at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Stars will need to watch out since the Greyhounds have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for Hazelwood East, they will host Bayless at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
