For the first time this season, St. Anne-Pacelli will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Brookstone Cougars at 3:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
St. Anne-Pacelli gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Abbeville Christian Academy as St. Anne-Pacelli made off with a 9-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won three in a row.

Hunter Hall and Billy Smith dominated on the mound. Hall tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Smith struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Hall is becoming a predictor of St. Anne-Pacelli's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jihran Gomilla, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Nolan Vaughn also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Brookstone made easy work of Shaw on Wednesday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.
Brennan Neal was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Charles Briscoe was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Brookstone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive games.
Brookstone is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. St. Anne-Pacelli now has a winning record of 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Anne-Pacelli has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brookstone struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Anne-Pacelli beat Brookstone 6-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Anne-Pacelli since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
